Flexible with Difficulties

Our team learned flexibility on Saturday. First, their trip was extended 2 1/2 hours when the interstate north of Chattanooga was shut down due to an accident. The team did not arrive to LMU until 5.15 pm - which means they didn't have time to make the 45 drive to our site. Instead, they had to draw up plans of the church and have the veterans explain to the newbies how the church is set up and how to best utilize all of the rooms. This morning, they are leaving earlier than usual so they can see the area and site and continue to make preparations.

Our second lesson of flexibility is that we will be without internet access until Tues evening ... so, this will be the last post until then. But, please tune in Tuesday evening to catch up on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday! We promise to have lots of pictures and stories to share!

One other thing - we will say this all week ... pray for the trip, the children and us. Please. In Paul's missionaries trips, he always relied on the prayers of believers ... we are doing the same. Please take a few moments to pray for us. Thank you!

Hey Gang,
I hope all is well! I am looking forward to hearing the good reports on how our heavenly father was glorified through yall's efforts & committments to serving Him.
I read in my morning devotions a story about John Calvin. I think John Calvin would have been content with the quiet life of a scholar. I do not think he envisioned himself to be on the front lines of the reformation. However, God used him as perhaps one of the most important figure in the practical work of the Reformation.
There were a couple of lessons I learned from Calvin that may be helpful to you all.
1. Calvin was driven by a passion for God's glory. My prayer for you is that your greatest desire in your heart is that God will be glorified in all that you do! (1Cor 10:31)
2. Calvin set a great example for us to follow. He was a diligent student of the Bible. I am praying that all all you are not being slothful in your zeal and that you are making time daily to feed on God's word.
3.Lastly, the disciplined life requires a willingness to endure hardship as a good soilder of Jesus Christ.
My prayer is that your love will be geniune & that you will be seeking to outdo one another in showing honor(Rm 12:9-10)
I have been praying and will continue to pray daily.

I am excited about the opportunities that God is giving each and every one of you. I am praying for your personal holiness and that God will be using you in a powerful way to minister to all these young children.

Much love to all of you guys and especially my two gals
